If you turn location/gps off can sprint family locator still track you?

We use multiple methods to get a locate. The best way is to use the GPS chip in the phone. When this is turned off, however, we can use cell towers to obtain a position a lot of the times. The accuracy is much higher, usually >0.6 miles. So this might not be ideal, but can give you a general idea of where a family member is (i.e. Brooklyn or Manhattan).
