Sprint Family Locator Forum

We just recently purchased the i680. Previously we had a Sanyo. With that phone, SFL worked very well. I could locate every minute if I wanted to and "follow" the path being taken. Now with the 680, I can only locate at the MOST every 15 minutes. Sometimes it's even longer. I know that it is not updating because the time does not even change. For example, if I locate at 8:17, the earliest I will be able to locate again will be 8:32...If I'm lucky. In between there, every time I hit locate, it will start to "locate" and then flip right back to the same screen with the same time (8:17). I've tried the cycle and I tried deleting the phone from SFL and re-adding it. Should I try again, or what other issue might it be?

you may have seen this referenced in other postings on the Forum, but Sprint Family Locator works MUCH better when locating CDMA (Sprint) phones rather than iDEN (Nextel) phones. I believe the phone you just got is iDEN.

unfortunately, there's not much we can do for you here. you can try doing an "accuracy cycle" on the phone in question:
